Thailand will play host to the 5th Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP) Asia Seminar and iRAP Workshop. This year's theme is:
"DECADE OF ACTION: TIME TO ACT!"
The seminar's key objectives are to:
- provide capacity building opportunities to participants on good practice in road safety
- showcase research and effective road safety programs from within Asia and other regions
- stimulate support for and action in the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety
- develop networks to support information, good practice and knowledge sharing
- inform representatives on global, regional and country developments in road safety.
The GRSP Asia Seminar provides an important opportunity for networking, information sharing and capacity building. Key representatives from Asian countries attending the seminar are:
- senior government officials, from road safety, transport, health and police
- road safety researchers and experts
- representatives of NGO's working in road safety in the region
- business representatives with an interest in road safety.
The main seminar program will be on 7-8 March and followed by an International Road Assessment Program (iRAP) Workshop on 9 March. This year's seminar will be run in partnership with the Thailand Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth).
The seminar is organised with funding from the Global Road Safety Initiative (GRSI) programme and its partners (Michelin, Renault, Shell, Total and Toyota), iRAP, ThaiHealth and 3M Traffic Safety Systems (seminar dinner sponsor).

GRSP is a hosted programme of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) that brings together governments, governmental agencies, the private sector and civil society organisations to make a difference in road safety in low and middle income countries.
